CSUST has excelled in this year’s online edition of the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (Geneva Inventions Expo). Geneva Inventions Expo is regarded as one of the most important annual events in the world devoted exclusively to inventions. CSUST won 2 Gold Medals, showcasing the University’s distinguished capabilities and accomplishments in innovation and technology.
School of Electrical and Information Engineering of CSUST presented two projects to the judges and both won gold medals. These two projects are Neutral Grounding Method via Voltage Source for Distribution Network to Prevent Electric Shock and Fire and Outage and Non-contact Traveling Wave Sensor and Accuracy Fault Location System in Power Grid.
Neutral Grounding Method via Voltage Source for Distribution Network to Prevent Electric Shock, Fire and Outage, which is expected to solve three major problems of electric shocks, forest fires, and user power outages, was completed by Professor Zeng Xiangjun, Dr. Yu Kun and others. The technology of this project has obtained more than 50 invention patents in China, the United States, the European Union, Russia, Australia, Brazil and other countries, and more than 100 sets of facilities have been applied.
Non-contact Traveling Wave Sensor and Accuracy Fault Location System in Power Grid was completed by Professor Li Zewen, Associate Professor Deng Feng, Dr. Yu Kun, Professor Zeng Xiangjun and others. This project has won the second prize of China’s National Technology Invention Awards, and has already been successfully industrialized. It has been applied to more than a dozen provincial power grids and thousands of power transmission and distribution lines in Hunan, Guangdong, Shandong, Henan and other provinces in China. It has a promising market and is expected to be applied worldwide.
